Motherboard manufacturers may soon be adding on a dedicated HyperTransport card slot to mobos, which allows direct access to the HyperTransport bus. The aim is to increase the options available to clustered supercomputers, but the "HTX slot" as its also could be used with other technology such as ATA storage and other IO. More here.
