Sony has announced that it is ending the Clie line of PDAs in Japan. The move comes not long after the company said it would no longer sell new models of PDAs overseas, and put a cap on some product lines. Although service and support will continue for users, the company will not be launching any new Clié PDAs in Japan.
"What we are doing here is exactly the same as what we did before (in overseas markets). There won't be any new Clié PDAs but we are not necessarily exiting the PDA business." - Aki Shimazu, a spokeswoman for Sony in Tokyo.
