The Industrial Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) has decided to switch from SCO Unix to Linux, with Turbolinux being their Linux of choice. The deployment of the OS will take something in the region of three years.

Citing the advantages of stability, security and flexibility that Linux provides, Claude Zhou, general manager for Turbolinux China, was pleased to usher in the largest Linux deployment in China ever. The ICBC bank has over 20,000 branch offices across the country, and utilises a large computing infrastructure.
