PDAs seem to be more popular than ever, with this year's shipments well on course to beat record levels in 2001. According to Gartner, worldwide shipments of personal digital assistants totalled 3.6 million units in the last three months. This represents a 32 percent jump from the same period last year, and it now seems likely that more than 15 million units will have shipped by the end of 2005.
