The chap who brought Lord of the Rings to life, Director Peter Jackson, is to produce a movie based on Microsoft's Halo computer game, under a partnership with Universal Studios, 20th Century Fox and Microsoft.
The movie Halo will also draw on the skills of WETA Digital, a visual effects company based in New Zealand that worked on the LOTR movies, Van Helsing and King Kong.
Halo has spawned two smash hits for Xbox plus a line of action figures and books. Set in 2552, Halo 2 tells the story of one soldier --- Master Chief --- and his bid to halt the invasion of the alien Covenant.
