Supermicro, well known for their integrated server solutions that have in the past been a token Intel offering, have started to include other CPUs and will now be offering AMD64 and Opteron platforms for their customers. Supermicro makes highly configurable, ready-to-go rackmount servers, and are popular amount systems integrators. A wider profile for them to offer makes good market sense.

Supermicro will also offer, like the majority of their current Intel CPU and chipset offerings, mainboards using AMD chipsets, offering 'complete' solutions.
