The Toshiba Corporation is to introduce its range of home appliances and mobile phones to the Indian market. The Japanese electronics giant plans to start manufacturing facilities in India to meet demand.
"We are currently studying the requirements of typical Indian households," the Managing Director, Toshiba India Pvt Ltd, Itaru Ishibashi, told reporters here today.
Initially, it is planned that products will be sourced from a manufacturing facility in Thailand, but when the Indian facilities are on line they will be the chief source. The company also plans to step up on its brand building efforts in the country.
