It's looking pretty likely that the UK is to get both versions of the PS3. Sony UK's David Wilson has indicated that the UK is likely to receive both versions of the next generation console, those being the 20GB and 60GB PS3 bundles.

Prior to this announcement, there had been rumours circulating that Sony may be only launching one version in the UK; only the price for the unit with the 60GB hard drive had been announced. But now, Wilson has confirmed that Sony is in talks with retailers and consumers to decide upon the best way to approach the impending launches of both the PS3 versions in the United Kingdom.

However, it's not set in stone that both versions will be available upon launch. Sony will face the difficult challenge of presenting choice to the consumer without confusing them.

Wilson also dismissed as "idle speculation" the suggestion that UK consumers would be required to pay a GBP 150 deposit to pre-order a PS3.

Wilson concluded by stating that Sony intends to reveal more of its launch plans "within the next two to three weeks." SCE UK boss Ray Maguire has previously stated that the console, which will launch across Europe on November 17th, will see its 600 Euro price point being converted to around GBP 425 in the UK.
