Could ATI be looking to cancel their next gen 65nm chipsets for Intel CPUs? While Intel stated they would not pull ATI's license to develop around their CPUs, it seems possible that with the AMD acquisition, ATI will choose to simply not make them:

Online Hong Kong-based HKEPC Hardware reported on August 22 that ATI may fail to follow its promise that its acquisition by AMD would not affect chipset shipments for the Intel platform. ATI's upcoming RC610 chipset, which is set for release in the first quarter of 2007, may be the last ATI product supporting the Intel platform, according to HKEPC.
Truthfully, it wouldn't surprise me if they did. AMD probably doesn't want to offer an Intel solution if they don't have to. But then again, they could stand to make a significant amount of cash there.
