While no different from the RC3 beta version that was made available last week, a release date has been officially set for Firefox 2. If things go as planned, the newest version of Firefox will be released tomorrow. Development has ended for the RC, and with IE7 already making its rounds it came not a moment too soon.

If you haven't used FF2 yet for fear of beta software or just no reason to change, the official release may be worth considering. The improvements over 1.5 are noticeable, though the real place it will shine is in the numerous 3rd party plugins. You can officially download it from the Mozilla site starting tomorrow. That is, of course, assuming that no show-stopping bugs are discovered before then.
