How goes the console wars? Right now, Nintendo is smiling gladly with their performance in the U.S. where the Wii is leading in sales. In January, the Wii managed to snag 485,000 sales in North America and 294,000 in the U.S. alone, putting it significantly above both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Sadly for Sony, the Xbox 360 also continues to outsell the PS3.

Is Sony still standing by their claim that the Wii is nothing more than an impulse buy? With worldwide sales of the Wii more than double that of the PS3, I somehow doubt it.
