Google is reaching out to iPhone users, by crafting a new home page for the units that is custom-tailored with a plethora of Google services. The new site, powered by Ajax, is capable of being used on the iPod Touch as well. The new service has been receiving mixed reviews, with some praising it and others chiding it for certain glitches.

Anything new is bound to have slip ups, however, and I think it is a grand idea for Google to do something like this. Being able to incorporate a Gmail account, a calendar, a search engine and others into an easily-accessible single interface on a PDA would be a step forward in accessibility. Likely, with their focus on Android, Google will begin developing hordes of software tailored for the mobile world.
