Nvidia's "business outlook" has caused them to make the decision to let go a significant number of employees, announcing today that up to 360 people will be cut from their workforce by the end of this month. While they aren't directly saying it is a financial issue, they are saying that "business realities" are forcing their hand in this cut.

They say this is part of other actions to be more competitive, as well as to "restore [their] financial position", which could mean they are losing money or simply not making enough. Whether the former or the latter, AMD has definitely played a part in this with the last few successive releases of the Radeon, which have been doing very well.
