OCZ has added a new "LE" (Limited Edition) solid-state drive to the Vertex line. Aimed at power users, the Vertex LE is based on a "cutting-edge new architecture" and uses the latest controller technology – presumably the same SandForce part as the upcoming Vertex 2 family.

OCZ will ship two iterations of the drive, one offers 100GB of storage, while the other has 200GB. Both use MLC NAND flash memory and SATA II, and boast top read/write speeds of 270MB/s and 250MB/s, sustained write of up to 235MB/s, 15,000 IOPS (4K random write), and TRIM support.

The company says its Vertex LE offers speed, reliability, efficiency, and affordability – but failed to mention an MSRP in its press release. Thankfully, Amazon has both capacities available for preorder. The 100GB Vertex LE runs $440, while the 200GB model is priced at $920. We will have a review on the drive shortly.
