Fresh off the success of AMC's hit television show 'The Walking Dead' which was inspired by Robert Kirkman's award winning comic series, Telltale Games has released a trailer for their upcoming game by the same name.

The Walking Dead's lead designer Sean Vanaman says that the game is more of an adaptation from the comics rather than the television series. Gamers will play with a new set of characters led by Lee Everett, although the timeline for the zombie apocalypse remains roughly the same. Players will have to make difficult moral decisions that affect gameplay across the entire series. Graphics are a blend of 2D and 3D models that are said to pay homage to the original comic book artwork.

"Telltale has done a phenomenal job in making a game that meets the expectations of fans," said Kirkman.  "Running around with a gun isn't what The Walking Dead is about; it's about how people caught in an apocalypse deal with facing their own death every day, and the horrible choices they have to make to survive. Telltale's game series has captured the spirit of the comic books perfectly."

The Walking Dead will be released in a series of monthly episodes via the Xbox Live Marketplace for the 360, Sony's PlayStation Network for PS3 gamers and on the PC and Mac through the Telltale Online Store. Pricing is set at 400 Microsoft Points for the 360, $4.99 on the PS3 and an annual pass priced at $24.99 for computer players.

Pre-orders are being accepted now with a 10 percent discount and the opportunity to join the cast and "die a horrible death" in the game. The first episode is scheduled for release in late April.
