The first DLC for Mortal Kombat X is set to arrive tomorrow, May 5, for Kombat Pack owners and it's a big one. Joining the cast of characters is Jason Voorhees, perhaps better known simply as Jason from the Friday the 13th film franchise.

The Crystal Lake terror enters combat equipped with his faithful machete, wasting little time tormenting his opponents in this teaser trailer from Warner Bros. Interactive. It's a fitting addition seeing as rival horror film star Freddy Krueger was a DLC character in 2011's Mortal Kombat, but I digress.

As with other Mortal Kombat X players, Jason has three different playable variations: Relentless, Slasher and Unstoppable. Each variant offers a slightly different take on the character including different capabilities and fighting styles.

The new DLC also includes the Horror Pack which adds three horror-themed skins to the mix: Vampiress Mileena, Pharaoh Ermac and Kraken Reptile. For those without the Kombat Pack, you'll be able to purchase the bundle come May 12 for $8. Optionally, you can snag Jason for $5 or the Horror Pack in exchange for $4.

The Kombat Pack costs an additional $29.99 but guarantees you'll get early access to all DLC. In addition to Jason, at least three other characters are lined up for the game including Tanya, Tremor and Predator (yes, another movie implant).
