Last month, Gears of Wars 4 developer The Coalition promised that the fourth installment of the excellent shooter would come with a slew of PC-exclusive graphical features, giving players "full control" over how the game looks. Now, a video from Gamescom has shown just how extensive these options are.

The clip was posted by HomeCiné (along with some stills on its forum). It seems that The Coalition wasn't exaggerating; I can think of few other games that offer so many gfx choices. It's even possible to adjust the quality of the cut scenes.

Like most titles, there are basic and advanced video settings options. Basic has the common brightness, field of view, and V-Sync controls, but also lets you change the texture settings for five different game elements, as well as adjusting the quality settings for things like light shafts and bloom. There's also the usual texture filtering and anti-aliasing options.

Things get really in-depth once you open the advanced settings. It's here that you can manipulate the particle spawn rate, increase or decrease the temporal AA sharpening, and change the dynamic resolution scaling, along with a host of other options.

Gears of War 4 also shows the impact changing each setting has on the CPU, GPU, and VRAM.

Earlier this week, The Coalition's director of community, Adam Fletcher, revealed the kind of PC hardware required to get the absolute best experience from the game. Unsurprisingly, you'll need a Core i7-4790 CPU @ 4GHz, a GeForce 980Ti or GTX 1080 with 6GB of VRAM, 16GB of regular RAM and 80GB of free SSD space. AMD users will require an FX-9590 CPU, a Radeon R9 Fury X GPU with 4GB of VRAM.
