Synology DS1019+ 5-bay
The Synology DS1019+ is a great NAS unit that comes with aesthetics and great performance. We agree that it’s similar to the previously released DS918+ but it comes with 8GB internal memory and an additional slot. It’s a great choice especially if four slots aren’t enough for you.

While the concept of paying more than A$1,000 for an empty storage case is somewhat hard to get your head around at first, when you consider it through the lens of being a storage platform to meet your needs for years to come, it makes plenty of sense. As the price of hard drives continue to fall and the storage sizes per drive skyrocket, this solution may be the last NAS box you ever buy.

If you have the money and are looking for a top notch device to stream video as well as handle other chores in your house, you can't go wrong with the Synology DS1019+. If you don't have any need for a lot of video transcoding, you might opt for the 6-bay DS1618+ instead, which might not be able to stream as many Plex videos simultaneously, but is still a powerhouse in its own right.

I almost take my notifications for granted informing me the latest backup was completed, or that an update was downloaded and applied. There are a few good choices for NAS in the Australian market, but with my positive experience with Synology and the great online support I just can’t go past them.

Reste le prix qui fait toujours autant son effet mais qui me parait plus justifié après cette période d’essai. Vous trouverez le DS1019+ aux alentours de 750 € nu chez LDLC par exemple (sans disque). Si un modèle 4 baies vous suffit vous pouvez vous limiter avec le DS918+ pour environ 580 € nu ou le DS418play, un peu moins performant mais avec les mêmes fonctionnalités, pour environ 480 € nu.
