The PCmark Vantage hard drive performance of the Maximus II Formula is on par with what we have seen from other high-end Intel and AMD motherboards.

Using SiSoftware Sandra XII we find that the hard drive performance is much the same on all four tested motherboards.

The Asus Maximus II Formula features dual PCI Express network controllers allowing for maximum throughput on both ports. The only other board tested that features dual PCIe controllers is the Crosshair II Formula.
