Benchmarks: Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander
At 1680x1050 the Asus Extreme NGTX285 TOP was 14% faster than the standard GeForce GTX 280, placing it ahead of the Radeon HD 4870 X2. The Extreme NGTX285 TOP remained faster than the Radeon HD 4870 X2 at 1920x1200 by a small margin, but it was inevitably overtaken at 2560x1600.
Another demanding real-time strategy game is Supreme Commander and as you can see we ran into some kind of GPU bottleneck at 1680x1050. All the single GPU cards produced ~63-68fps, while the dual-GPU cards were stuck at 90-92fps. As we increased the resolution these performance trends remained, though at 2560x1600 it was the Radeon HD 4870 X2 that managed to pull ahead. The Asus Extreme NGTX285 TOP delivered virtually the same performance as that of the GeForce GTX 280.
