The new XPS 13, like its predecessors, packs a large 60 Wh battery into its 13-inch chassis. Even though the 8th gen CPUs feature improved performance, they sit in the same TDP bracket and do feature improved efficiency in some situations. As a result, the XPS 13 has excellent battery life.
As the charts show, video playback battery life in particular is excellent, though the laptop also performs well in the critical web browsing test. It should be noted here that the i7-8550U does not clock as aggressively high on battery power, so performance isn’t at the same level as in the benchmarks we showed earlier, though performance still exceeds wall-powered Kaby Lake and delivers enough for everyday usage.
