Benchmarks: EVEREST, CINEBENCH R10
Using EVEREST Ultimate Edition we are once again taking a look at the memory bandwidth performance of these various processors. These results will differ from those reported by SiSoftware Sandra 2009 as we test both read and write performance individually. Interestingly, the read performance of the AMD Phenom II X4 955 is higher with DDR2 memory, while the write performance is better with DDR3 memory.
The AMD Phenom II X4 955 is up to 5% faster than the Phenom II X4 940 in CINEBENCH R10, while both were faster than the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650. Still, the Core i7 series remains dominant in this test, with the Phenom II X4 955 trailing the Core i7 920 by a 17% margin.
All the Phenom II X4 processors perform very poorly in the CINEBENCH R10 OpenGL rendering test. Even the new 955 model is slower than the old Core 2 Duo E6700 processor and we are not quite sure why.
