Benchmarks: AS SSD Benchmark

AS SSD Benchmark confirms what we found when testing with CrystalDiskMark. The Black2's SSD provides relatively strong read performance hitting 393MB/s, which was a fraction faster than the Agility 4.

However, the Black2's sequential write performance is extremely poor, hitting just 139MB/s – mighty close to the 140MB/s delivered by its own disk drive.

AS SSD Benchmark's 4K-64 thread read test went fairly well for the Black2's SSD, which offered 202.5MB/s, slightly faster than the 840 Evo.

The 4K-64 thread write performance of WD's flash drive was relatively poor at 109.6MB/s, 42% slower than the 840 Evo.

Interestingly, the Black2's SSD and HDD delivered nearly the same results in AS SSD Benchmark's read access time test. Whereas SSDs typically have a read access of less than 0.200ms, the Black2's flash drive took 15.9ms.

The Black2's SSD fared much better in the write access test, as its delivery of 0.123ms is comparable to the 840 Evo. Conversely, the HDD portion of WD's Black2 was much slower than the standard WD Black.
