Hi, guys. I see I'm not the only one posting about this; hopefully that means help is out there. So I first noticed some crazy ads playing in the background a while ago...maybe a month. At the time I assumed it was background to SRWare Iron; in a state of exhaustion, I just muted the sounds rather then hunt through the 30-something tabs I had open to figure out who the culprit was. Problem did not reoccur and I forgot it even happened. Today I came home to find my laptop playing like five or six advertisting audio files concurrently with nothing open. This seemed like a bad thing, so I downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials and ran it immediately. It threw up a red flag for Sirefef.fy and announced it would clean it. I guess Sirefif didn't like that plan because at this point, I got a notification that "Windows has encountered a critical problem and needs to close", advising me to save my data because it would be shutting down in one minute. Restarted. Instantly, the same message. Restarted in safe mode. Same message. Shutdown continued to occur regardless of what I did. Downloaded the ZeroAccess Removal Tool for Sirefef and tried to run it from a flash drive, which has provoked Blue Screen of Death. What do I do now?
