Good move on your part. AVG has been causing nothing but trouble for many people within the last month. An update over three weeks ago literally crippled Vista and Windows 7 systems. My own sister who is running Vista had her system hung on a continuous loop. When I found out she had AVG I told her to immediately uninstall it and her system since is like new.

You are second person in three days who is running XP that has had the same issue.
