Dell BIOS Password Removal

Dear Mr Rustam,
I am about to go to school to be a nurse while raising my daughter who just started school while working a full time job that barely pays the bills. I found a Dell Latitude D610 at a resale shop that had a table set up at a local flea market and was able to buy it. The church based resale shop employee/volunteer assured me that the computer worked when it was donated and I trusted. After a little bit of searching I was able to find a power cord and plugged it in and turned on the power. I was so happy to see "Dell" in big letters on the screen... then my heart fell... I got the dreaded grey screen saying the computer was locked. I have tried to reset the EEPROM chip per instructions from Paragon and it did not work... maybe I did not find the correct chip. I am afraid that I may have destroyed the computer. Will you please wiggle your fingers and provide the password I need to see if I wasted the money and time, or if I have spent wisely on a piece of equipment that will help me in school so that I may help others while better providing for my daughter? If so, the Service Tag # is 4PB04B1-595B and the express service code is 10213265101. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Act of God?

You may not believe it, but right after I posted, I decided to give it one more try... the clock started chiming midnight here and somehow I bumped power button because the machine started up.. and went right to the manufacturing mode screen! Now though I am looking at another screen that is wanting a login and password. AUGH!!!!
Never mind Mr Rustam. Thank you for all you do though!

Service tech at wits end!!!

Rustam, please help!

Have one lonely Dell C800 with a Bios Password here at work (where I'm the support staff) and have tried the chip reset, but everytime I try to jump the chip, the machine won't start. Always with the grey screen!!!

If you would be so kind as to either help me or point me in the right direction with this mess I'd be very grateful. My life is in your hands!

RUSTAM_

We just had laptop donated to our school, however its hdd is locked.

Dell Latitude c600

I tried to send a private message but your box was full.
On one of the forums you claimed to have a written a little program similar to latitudepw.exe to get a master password for computer with the -595B service tag extension. You claimed it worked for hdd as well.

44K44Y85556-595B is the serial number of the hdd on the bootup screen

Can you help out
Pat

Edit: Thread merged into this one.

Hello rustam. I too am joining the long line of HD pw reset. I have a Dell C600 I'm fixing for family. It had Win98 on it but had a ton of problems so I put Ubuntu on it. I was setting up his wireless when it froze and rebooted coming up with the now famed "#***********-595B...." error. So can you work your magic one time more?

Hope you can help,

...most of same problem that happened to me...

Need your help Rustam.... tolong ! :(

Hi Rustam, i've just bought my second-hand Dell D610 and i am going to use it as a laptop connected to my office network. Since every pc or laptop that gonna be used in the office should be formatted and re-image to the office networks. After i gave it for get configured by IT staff, they have to change some setting in the BIOS and needed the admin password to change the setting.
I really do need your favour to help me out for this problem since i really need my laptop can be used for my everyday working in the office.
If i read in the post, most of people here asks for your help and if there is one lucky they gonna get your answer for solving the problem.

I am just wondering maybe i'll be a lucky person that you could help for providing me the master password for my laptop BIOS p/w. :)

anyway my service tag is 3HW571S-595B
and my x-press service is 7612277680

before what will gonna be for the next i wanna say huge thanks for you.

regards/wass

Hello, this is my first post to the Techspot forums! Beseeching Rustam for his assistance and requesting the application of the expertise of the rest of the forum in solving this problem is the primary reason I signed up in the first place (although it kind of looks like a fun place).

I recently was gifted a Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop by a friend after I took his desktop PC to my shop and did several hundred dollars' worth of upgrades to it for him.

He didn't have a charger for the laptop but if I remember correctly, he showed me that it booted into Windows (before it ran out of battery power finally).

So I got the laptop yesterday, bought one of those universal chargers for it (120W, $$$), and it took the charger and fired right up (in my car on the way home even!).

Unfortunately, I get a white screen with gray letters immediately after the system passes post (whether I hit F2, F12, or nothing), doesn't seem to be a HDD password. It warns me that there is a password authentication system and lets me try three times before shutting down. I fired off quite a few of the generic passwords that a user might set, and I'm not sure where to go from here (the original owner of the laptop is in Texas right now, I may be able to track him down through his brother). This I would do only in the blind hope that he remembers the password (and that there was one originally!).

The service tag is 9JWBX41 and the express service code is 20794202209. The password screen refers to the computer as 9JWBX41-A95B. The -A95B seems to be a rather rare error from the research that I have been able to do so far, could I have fried the laptop with the universal 120W power adapter? The battery seems to have charged properly and the laptop fires right up on battery power.

I am running BIOS revision A33. That's all I can readily find out about the system.

My e-mail address is my Techspot forum username address at yahoo.com.

HI dreddnott and welcome to the TS Forum

The A95 just refers to a later version of BIOS and is not an error, your right in your request to Rustam he is the only one with a working code gen to get past the HD lock,

However there is an online service which can unlock remotely for a small price, you have a choice of keeping the data or blanking the drive, the sites address is below.

Hello Rustam,

Here's my story. I owe my wife's employers money, so I am their tech support for free. One of their son's has a inspiron 1100 with unknown bios password. He taped a note to the top of the laptop with the following:

***Problems***

1) forgot password (don't know how to get on)
2) overheats
3) very slow

Kathy, Please have Rich take care of this

***end of note***

So, here I am.

Service tag: HMQ0W31
Express Service Tag: 38379267181

Is there any chance you can work your magic? It would be much appreciated. Thank you and have a swell day

Admin/Configure Setup Password ONLY. or Service TAG Problem

I am making this post to take some of the pressure off rustam. I have a software only solution to both the titled problems available at email removedand so does Ididmy c600 at his website with ths link
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/judslat/paragon/

Contact rustam for HDD password help and also for Primary(grey/white screen) passwords. I also have a different method and so does the linked website for the latter type, but it is more involved than rustam's.

I 'm desperate

I to search the master code for a DELL Latitude C600

My service tag is: 2WK210J
express service code 63-221-692-51

Another Grey Screen

Hi Rustam,

I guess you are busy but here is another plea for help.

Having left my trusty Dell D600 nestling in the cupboard for the first time ever whilst I went on holiday it clearly took great offence. On returning and booting up I got the famous grey screen requesting Primary or Administrator password. Spoke to Dell who claim that leaving laptop unused for a month would not initiate the grey screen but my password would work anyways - Duh! I pointed out that having never had need to mess with the bios how would I know the password as its not written down with the paperwork! They acknowledged my point, accepted I was owner and would e-mail code. Two weeks later and still waiting despite numerous calls - jeez they need to improve their Customer Services - now I know what can happen and have read some of the tales of woe on these pages would I ever buy a Dell again.....

Tag no is CBZFT0J-595B (to confirm it's a zero not an O)

Thanks

Help so my son could use this lab top, and leaves mine.

Hello Rustam

I hope your not too bored to give password away.

Here is my story. I bought a Latitude D600 from local PC man in the Medwest. HE IS a pc assembler whom i guess buy or trade new or used stock of computer s from compagnies, reprocess them and sell them individually locally in Missouri, st louis area, So I'm pretty sure that mine was not stolen.
As far I know, I paid for it what the seller asked for. The BIOS revision A06
This message says: Please type in the system or adminstrator password and press (enter)
I put many names including the name of the seller, did not work.

I try to reach the guy, but I remember that I purchased the lab top AS IS

the service tag is BC8V391

Thanks much for your help and for your time.

I guess next time, I will be careful

Thanks
Sammy

p/word authentication?

Hi everyone,

Any tips on getting past the p/word authentication on dell lattitude C600 please?

Thought a notebook would make life easier but hey..guessing not so far?

thanks if you can help...great site btw

All right, I was feeling a little adventurous and headstrong after successfully repairing my Logitech G5 laser mouse, so I went ahead with the paperclip trick:

The Inspiron 5150 has a slightly different version of the chip than some of the other laptops mentioned in this thread, having 8x the capacity than the others for one (16kbit), so I was worried about ruining things if perhaps the pinout was different, but after a few tries I managed to properly short pins 3 & 6 on the little chip. Once in the BIOS proper, I was able to permanently disable the master and admin passwords.

What I did to make it easier was do a full disassemble of the laptop, identify the proper 8-pin chip on the motherboard, mark its position, drill a small clean hole in the bottom of the casing so I could see the chip, completely reassemble it, and use an insulated paperclip to short the pins. It was difficult to get my aim right but I was in no danger of shorting pin 8 (VCC) to anything, and it was certainly easier than attempting to power the poor thing on with the motherboard and doohickeys hanging all over the place!

Hooray!

Of course, now there's a screen saying that Hard-disk #N4TT4516SVH-A95B, the system Primary HDD, is protected etc blah blah blah.

I suppose I have to run the DST ISO thing to fix this, or could I simply replace the HDD (I have larger ones on hand at work) and be done with the old drive?

Or, failing that, is there a way to simply generate a master password for the HDD and use it without any hassle? I'd assume that is one of the services that Rustam graciously provides to the people in this thread.

Just let me know what my options are. I was planning on running Debian Linux on this system anyways, so I'm pretty flexible. If replacing the hard drive will be an immediate fix, I'd rather do that.

Wow Rustam... are you a wizard? I sometimes wish i were!!!

Hi
Congrats on a successful PC trick, unfortuntately only Rustam can supply a HD password, if your lucky and chosen then you can unlock it.

If not then yes the immediate fix is to replace the drive.
