I've been dealing with this for a couple of days, so when I read your rules for posting...well, I'm not sure I'll qualify for your help. To begin with, there was a virus on my computer - something like Internet Security Essentials. Anyway, I followed advice of several sites like this one - ended up downloading malware & a few other things - & cleaning it a couple of times. Programs found viruses, quarantined and cleaned computer; was advised to remove Microsoft Security Essentials at one point and then reinstall. After reinstalling it started giving me the critical problem error. (Was also told to uninstall any malware before reinstall of MSE.) Today, I read and FOLLOWED instructions given to OSMOSXTRM on July 26 all the way to the logs. I have the logs on a flash drive. HORRIBLE OUTCOME: now I only get a blank screen when it tries to reboot. When I press ctrl-alt-del, 'logon process has failed to create the security options dialog. Failure - security options. Please let me know if there is anything you can do to help with this atrocious mess that I've somehow created.
