No Portal? Also The Sims 2 is a very good game if you just want to mess around and make batman fall in love with spiderman... hey, we've all done it :p

Make sure you have a lot of space though for all those expansion packs you'll say you won't get but then get them anyway...

Portal's part of the Orange Box, but I'll put it in there anyways.

The Sims 2 is already on there as well.

    Tremulous

Hey! Tremulous is also a great game that doesn't require that much.

Heck even people with a RAM of 512MB or 256MB can run Tremulous smoothly. Also, people with a processor of 700MHz can run it!

It's an Online Alien Multi-Player FPS game that can be downloaded here

    Here's a picture

Hope you guys like it! :)

I can add Onimusha: Demon's Siege since, to the best of my knowledge, the first game is restricted in availability to some parts of the world.

That it is; I'll add it along with some other indie faves of mine like Braid and World of Goo. Thanks. :)

EDIT: Ok I'm going to put any games that I find that are untested in red on the list. Please read the addendum at the end of the list and try to help me out if you can. Thanks again to all the contributors! :D

Wouldn't it be nice if a list like this exsisted of all the games that can run on low end hardware AND are free?

    Any1 agree?

A lot of the games are free, and others can be downloaded in a free (albeit ad-supported) form.

I grabbed this game for my Playstation 2 on like my second or third go around shopping at Gamestop. I grabbed Onimusha 1 & 2 for the PS2 system, great games, these are the kind of game that you don't have to be a "rocket scientist" to play! :)

Unchated Water, and New Horizon. I love these two old school games.

Wow, thank you very much. I'm a super game junkie, some games need hardware to run, which makes me annoyed. Then I can play the game to the top of my bent.

Runescape :p Not that I play it.

Freedom Fighters was really fun. any of the Thief series, Gabriel Knight games, Planescape: Torment, beyond good and evil, Silent hill 2, RE 4.. best on that list is Morrowind though.. amazing game, even with the (now) outdated graphics

EDIT: Rune: Halls of Valhalla, Baldur's gate, Grim Fandango, Vampire the Masquerade: Redemption and Bloodlines (though you'd need some of the uofficial patches)
