Good god man, do I really need to tell you everything lol.

The file is in a zip archive. Right click on it and select extract.

Open my computer, double click your hard drive, open the windows folder, then open the system32 folder. Place your mouse pointer over the usbehci file press and hold down the left mouse button and drag the file on to the drivers folder and let go. Close all open windows and reboot your system.

Regards Howard :)

Infact I have extracted it, it says system file but I have no software that can open it. Its a file called usbechi. What do I with it now?

edit: hahaha sorry howard, I have been working on this pc for the last 6 hours and my head has gone, totally

Now install the chipset drivers, followed by the drivers for your graphics card.

I have seen your report and it confirms your graphics card is an ATI Radeon. However, until the chipset drivers and graphics drivers are installed, it`s not going to work properly.

Regards Howard :)

Dude I put the usbenchi file into system 32 folders thing as you said. Rebooted and clicked on install chipset, it got to 90 and came back with that message so again so I located the file for it and clicked ok. Got this message.

I choose continue on anyway. Will I have a problem or?

No, that`s fine. It just means the driver isn`t Microsoft approved, that`s all. It`s not harmful, nor is it unusual either.

You did put the usbehci file in the drivers folder and not the system32 folder didn`t you?

Regards Howard :)

In the system 32 area, I put it in drivers. As in I clicked on system 32 after going into windows and then choose drivers.

If I have done it right, which exact drivers do I need to install now.

Also has the usbehci thing worked?.

As i explained once me and my friend had installed drivers from the adi site, and rebooted, my pc went blank and I had to format again :(, is this because of not having this usbehci file?

Thanks howard.

A possible reason for the blank screen was not having the chipset drivers installed. Now they`re installed, you need to install the drivers for your graphics card, as I said in my post #31.

If you still continue to have problems after doing that, I suggest you take your pc to a repair shop and get it looked at.

Regards Howard :)

can you give me the exact link for these graphics card?. Also how exactly can we be sure the intel chipset has definetly been installed?

The chipset drivers have been installed, that`s why Windows asked you if you wanted to continue.

Click the link below and when the page opens, In the first column choose your OS, followed by Radeon in the second column and scroll down and select X300 in the third column and click the go button. Choose to download and install the Catalyst software suit.

Yer but howard my only problem with you saying chipset thing has been installed it that it did it and I clicked ok, it rebooted, and when I came back on, I am sure it said hardware had a problem which worries me and then I came online to tell you about what it said. I just want to make sure you see. Say I do install catalyst software(I will), and I reboot and the screen goes blank again after saying windows xp, will I have to format.

I tried putting windows in last time and choosing repair option but to no effect as I didnt know any commands.

edit: I searced for chipset and found this log.

If you`re worried that the chipset driver might not have installed properly, redownloaded them and try installing them again.

Regards Howard :)

Ok howard, what about service pack 2? will I need that?

I put up a log in the previous post, doesnt that clarify they have installed?

o well is there a way of finding about the chipset then and where can I get the service pack( is 2 the latest one)

Sorry about this howard, its just I have exams and I really do need the pc at this present moment more than ever :(

cheers, so I get sp2 first, install it, reboot, then install those graphic drivers and reboot. What about if the pc goes blank again, do I have to format?

If the pc screen goes blank again, I suggest you take it in to a pc repair shop and have it looked at as there`s obviously some kind of problem, possibly with the video card or something.

Yes, install sp2, then your graphics card drivers and see what happens.

Regards Howard :)

OMG I pasted that screen shot to you and was waiting and clicked cancel setup but it still just carried on and bloody installed so I went to add/remove programs and chose to install. It said it needs restarting to remove so I said ok, screen went blank again and I formatted again. bloddy hell

I really think you need to have your system looked at. You shouldn`t be having so much trouble installing graphics card drivers.

Regards Howard :)

I havent got the time you see man, i need the pc for my exams, I dont know if this all because I aint activated yet but there isnt much point if these drivers wont work.
