Sugar, the “educational” interface used on the OLPC, is set to expand its horizons - though not for long if Microsoft has their way. Sugar Labs, the company behind it, is seeking to develop its product further and begin offering it on platforms other than the the XO laptop, for example, the Asus Eee PC.

The man who founded Sugar Labs happens to be the same Walter Bender that recently departed from the OLPC project due to differences in views about where the project was headed. The move to try and develop for other platforms was probably influenced by this.
