HP preps updated business netbook, Mini 5103

By on
HP has quietly listed an updated version of the Mini 5102 business netbook on its Italian website. Since it's intended for professionals, the Mini 5103 offers a plethora of configurations compared to consumer-grade netbooks. Hardware options include an Intel Atom N455 or N475 processor, 1 or 2GB of DDR3 1333MHz RAM, and a 160GB/320GB 7200RPM HDD or 80GB/128GB SSD.

The 10.1-inch display comes in standard and touchscreen flavors, while graphics are driven by Intel's integrated GMA 3150 with an optional Broadcom Crystal HD decoder chip. There's also a multitouch trackpad, a 2MP webcam, an SD card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA-out, 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, optional mobile broadband with GPS, and a four or six-cell battery.

The Mini 5103 will come with your choice of Windows 7 Starter/Home Premium 32-bit, SUSE Linux Enterprise 11, or FreeDOS. Pricing will start from 482, but you can expect that to soar quickly if you tack on extras like a solid-state drive or touch display. Exact availability isn't known, but the Mini 5102 has been yanked from HP's US site, suggesting that the 5103 is incoming.
