October 21, 2015 - better known as Back to the Future day - is now officially in the history books. While it may be over, the pop culture phenomenon has many of us thinking about what the distant future may hold.

YouTube science channel AsapSCIENCE details what humanity might look like 1,000 years into the future. Robotic implants, selective genetic mutations, utility fog and space colonies are just a few of the possibilities discussed in the eye-opening clip.

Unfortunately, there was no mention of the flying cars promised in Back to the Future.
