Something worth noting is that although the Rampage II GENE offers excellent overclocking performance itís hardly needed when playing todayís games with graphics cards such as the GeForce GTX 285. Although 2560x1600 is an extreme resolution we saw almost no difference in performance when running the Core i7 965 Extreme Edition processor at 3.20GHz or 4.0GHz. The Rampage II GENE did not fail to impress when it delivered slightly more performance than the Asus P6T Deluxe at 1024x768 in Quake Wars and Far Cry 2.
