One of the aspects of the Rampage II GENE that we were really keen to investigate was its overclocking potential. With that in mind we decided to benchmark the board using the two available CPU level up settings in the BIOS along with the default clock speeds.

The first level up setting overclocked the Core i7 965 Extreme Edition processor to 3.6GHz, while the second pushed it to 4.0GHz. Both settings worked flawlessly and we were able to stress test the system for hours without a single crash.

All our benchmarks will feature the three set of results compared to the Asus P6T Deluxe (also X58 based).
