The performance picture is completely changed when we crank up the resolution to 1920x1200 and use high quality in-game settings. The Phenom II X4 955 manages to hit the lead, and although it's only by a small margin, it was technically a match for the Core i7 965 Extreme Edition.
Unlike the previous Crysis Warhead test, the new Phenom is now matching the performance of the Intel Core i7 processors though there is clearly some inference due to GPU limitations that see the GeForce GTX 280 stuck at a 39fps speed limit.
The AMD Phenom II X4 955 is back on front when testing with Far Cry 2. The performance margins are small, but something allowed the Phenom II X4 955 to beat the Core i7 965 Extreme Edition processor by 3fps.
