Benchmarks: Adobe, AutoMKV

Now for some real-world application testing with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 where we measure the time it takes to render a video file. The Phenom II X4 955 is 9% faster than the older 940, completing the task about 2 seconds faster. This made the Phenom II X4 955 just 4 seconds slower than the Intel Core i7 920 which is not bad at all.

The Adobe After Effects CS3 standings are almost the same. The Phenom II X4 955 was just marginally faster when using DD3 memory, falling in the middle between the Core i7 920 and the Core 2 Quad Q9650.

The AutoMKV rendering test can take dual-core processors like the Core 2 Duo E8600 nearly half an hour to complete, whereas the Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition can do it in less than 10 minutes. The AMD Phenom II X4 955 sits in between, with a best time of 14:14, or about a minute faster than the Phenom II X4 940.
