Benchmarks: Batman Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty
Performance in Batman: Arkham Asylum was not quite as impressive as what we saw with 3Dmark Vantage. Nonetheless, the Radeon HD 5830 was still 9% faster than the 4890 at 2560x1600. It was also 5% and 12% slower than Nvidias's GeForce GTX 275 and GTX 285, respectively, and as much as 14% slower compared to its bigger brother the Radeon HD 5850 at the same resolution.
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 the Radeon HD 5830 defeated the old 4890 by a 19% margin. It was just 5% slower than the much more expensive GeForce GTX 285, and trailed the 5850 by a relatively small 6% performance margin. At 2560x1600 this equated to just 4fps, which doesn't really make a difference above the 60fps mark.
