Benchmarks: File Copy Performance

While the DS1512+ failed to outpace its forerunner in our download and upload tests, it has a clear edge when executing on-disk copying. Our single large 6GB file test revealed a significant 24% increase – enough to also place the DS1512+ ahead of the Thecus N7700PRO and our Core 2 Duo test system.

The game copy performance was also impressive and while the DS1512+ was 10% slower than the N7700PRO, it was 13% faster than the DS1511+ and 4% faster than our Core 2 Duo test system.

The DS1512+ was again faster than the older DS1511+, this time by a 12% margin in our program copy test, while it was just a fraction slower than the Thecus N7700PRO.
