hello all,

I'm not gonna be a regular user of this forum i just thought I'd try to help everyone out with this issue because it was driving me flipin insane til I cracked it a few weeks ago. I even blamed my grafix card which is a nice galaxy zalman premium 7900GS 512mb geforce, was almost gonna send it back! anyways.... the reason why the blue screen of death comes up telling you rubbish when playing only a game usually... and refers to physical memory dump... is because the OS hasnt got enough virtual memory usage for the drive your using. basically all you have to do is check how much memory your paging file is set to be using.

to do this open system>advanced>performance tab to settings>advanced>virtual memory to change

in the new window you will be shown how much minimum and maximum your using for your paging file. when i checked mine it was 1000MB lower than the recommended amount, which is displayed at the bottom of the window... you should have it set to custom size, and set the initial amount to what the recommended amount says at the bottom of the window, and the maximum should have already been set by default, on my pc it says 4092MB, on yours it might be higher or lower - whatever just leave that bit alone. now click set and then ok. reopen to that window to check that the bottom of the window displays the current amount the same as the recommended amount, make sure its on a custom setting and make sure that the maximum allocation is not touched. If for some bizare reason your maximum amount to start with was set to a lower amount than the initial amount... increase it at your discretion, i would recommend at least 1200MB higher than your recommended initial amount. restart your pc, and play your problem game or 3D app. so far ive been playing all my games round the clock for 2 weeks and since i did that not once have i seen any death screen, had any crashes or anything - it seems to have solved the problem. next thing is to do is not essential but recommended... go to:

system>advanced>startup and recovery tab to settings. in the new windows at the bottom where is says write debuging info.... change the setting to complete memory dump, and tick overwrite any existing file (default). finally untick automatically restart. now restart again to apply the changes.

NOTE: if after you restart your pc after any blue screen of death and you logon and windows explorer just keeps crashing and you basicaly cant even use your pc....

whilst the send error report/dont send box is up... go to system>advanced>performance tab to settings>data execution prevention.

click on "turn on DEP for all programs and services except those i select. now click add, and browse to C:\WINDOWS\explorer and highlight it and add it to the list, then restart pc. now you shouldnt be bothered! and if you are still having DEP bothering you about other things.... its not recommended but you can actually turn it off manually.

go to system>advanced>startup and recovery tab to settings.

in the new windows click edit. BE VARY CAREFUL here... if you mess up any other lines or spaces to how the BOOT.ini file is originally your PC wont boot your OS at all and you will be totally screwed with only option to format or repairing with the recovery console from your windows cd. all you gotta do it locate the bit that says "/NoExecute=" (without quotes). It will have a command after the =. if you didnt touch DEP yet it should say "Optin", and if youve edited DEP it should say "OptOut" (all without quotes). Delete whatever the command is and make it to "AlwaysOff" exactly as that without quotes, and without removing any spaces (if there are any) if it is in the middle of the text field. in otherwords highlight only the text after the = and delete.. add AlwaysOff and then close. when prompted to save click save and thats it... restart pc and now DEP will be totally off for the whole system.... highly unrecommended but if your system is that messed up and you dont wana format you can get by for the time being with this tweak.

this should all help the blue death screen problem because of games and any other DEP related problems after youve had a crash. wana ask any more questions my email is
w1pe0ut.uk@gmail.com... prefer msn.

memory dump

Thank u, cowboy_uk

Some months ago I had performed a set of methods like yours to decrease memory usage & was not helped .
Even more, the problem continued after migrating to Linux.
i think it needs only to tune up BIOS: turn off harddisk cash, tune up IDE, check if new memory corresponds with motherboard.

The same screen came up for me but I was watching a video on Youtube when suddenly that screen came up. But I was not playing any games. But I had just downloaded DVD Shrink and Nero burning rom and my virus protector (ZoneAlarm) told me I had a virus so I quarantined it and uninstalled both new programs and deleted them......
It happened again the next day same message except this time it happened right after I restarted it from a Windows update, no programs were running (besides background programs maybe.) After i had shut it down a message appeared saying Windows has detected a serious error (or something similar) and it had a Sent error report option. Another thing that keeps happening (I'm not positive it's related to this problem) is I've been getting allot of spyware when I do a scan and I've never got any before, Type Trojan, Name Win32.Askyaya, Risk, Medium.

Hello, i had a similar situation..

Hello, I'm new on this forum, but well i had a similar problem. I had 2 laptops, one Dell 600m and one Dell 8500 both are inspiron.

Well on my 600m i had two modules of memory, one of 1GB and one of 512MB, yesterday when i was doing some browsing on internet i got the Blue Screen with same message, Physical Memory Dump Error. Well i reset it and i go ti again, i take out the 1GB module and reset it and since the i had no problem, today i switch a module of memory on my Dell 8500 that i use at my office as desktop and installed the 1GB module and after no more than 2 minutes on windows XP i got the blue screen as i got it before on my 600m, so i got in conclusion that my 1GB module fail, even i used before for a long time and never had a problem of blue screens.

I do not know how to test it by itself or WHY do they fail suddenly. But what i found is using it on any of my two Dell laptos i got blue screen for PMDE.

The other hardware that is an equivalent on both is the Hitachi 7200 RPM HD i got on both, but why without that 1GB memory i got no Blue screens? In fact on this laptop where i'm working now (Dell 8500) i had another 1GB module and one 256MB stick, both are same brand which is diferent from the one mentioned before, which i just left it at my home.

Well i hope this could help a little more.

Sincerely

Hey guy,

I have been having many of the same issues as the previous posts. For instance when I play World of Warcraft, it seems to work fine but every so often I will have it crash on me. Is this due to my graphics card driver being unstable? It is fully updated. (Nvidia Go 7300)

I recently have had "the blue screen of death" plague me for the past few days. I have to keep booting up in safe mode, when I try to boot windows normally it auto. gives me the memory dump blue screen. This being said, it is really annoying I basically can't boot my computer, and I can't seem to play games (steadily)

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Memory Dump, blue bcreen of death

Dell Dimension 3000
Pentium(R) 2.8GHz
512mb RAM

Each time the PC starts up, this message displays letting me know it's dumping my memory:

STOP: C0000ZLA8}Fatal System Error

The windows subsystem system process terminated unexpectedly with a status C…C0000005(0x7c91213E0X0052EFA8).

The system has been shut down.

Cd drive doesn’t read, tried to install webcam Logitech quickcam version 10.5.1 MS Windows XP Home and this issue began happening after that. I reinstalled windows and formatted the HD once and thought that'd take care of it, but it hasn't yet. Any clue on how I can get this message to stop rearing it's ugly face? Thanks!

I am getting the message that is being talked about here

***STOP: 0X00000008E(0XC0000090, 0X004B4BD8, 0XEE25885C, 0X00000000)

Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete.............contact system adminstrator, etc.

I recently bought a new CPU. All components are compatible, my vendor ensured that. But I've been unable to even install the windows OS properly because of this error.
I tried using a hard-disk with an already installed OS that works perfectly fine elsewhere but I keep getting the blue screen at boot up, i.e. windows doesn't even start so I cant fix it.
What can I do?

Same Problem/Different Ending - HELP!!

I've been reading your posts on the "blue screen of death" and the dumping of physical memory. What it looks like to me, however, is that even after having these things happen, most of your computers are still operational to a large degree. Not so with mine.

I saw the blue screen and my laptop began dumping the physical memory, but ever since, all it does when I turn it on is ATTEMPT to start Windows XP. Before the OS has a chance to fully load, the laptop shuts off, then tries to restart -- over and over again. XP never completes the load and I can't even get to the point where I can go to safe mode and navigate through my files and folders.

I kinda think I'm screwed and the only recourse for me is to buy and install a couple of new RAM cards.

Thanks for listening. Any ideas on this?

Lack of power is a big cause of this problem

hey cpc and everyone i was wondering if you could help me solve my memory dump problem:

two weeks ago I built a new gaming PC. I had installed many games on it such as Bioshock (uninstalled it), Gears of War (uninstalled it), Assassins Creed, Company of Heroes and TF2. Two days ago I started getting random blue screens of death that last less than 1 second, after that my PC automatically reboots. The first time this occurred was during a game on team fortress 2 but then it started occurring midway through windows, sometimes it occurs when im not even at my computer. I manage to read some of the error, i know it says memory dump then it goes through some lines of text but this occurs too quickly so i cant even see whats happening. Now its occurring every few hours..

I was reading the post: How do I read minidumps? and i read the instructions:

"1) Download and install the
Debugging Tools from Microsoft[/url]
2) Locate your latest memory.dmp file- C:\WINDOWS\ Minidump\Mini081505-01.dmp or whatever
3) open a CMD prompt and cd\program files\debugging tools for windows\
4) type the following stuff:
Code:

c:\program files\debugging tools>kd -z C:\WINDOWS\ Minidump\Mini081505-01.dmp
(it will spew a bunch)
kd> .logopen c:\debuglog.txt
kd> .sympath srv*c:\symbols*
kd> .reload;!analyze -v;r;kv;lmnt;.logclose;q

5) You now have a debuglog.txt in c:\, open it in notepad and post the content here"

but at step 2 i cant find that folder or those files.. can anyone help me? Thanks

My laptop lid closes and it enters slumber mode. When I open the lid and it would load to the login screen for the desktop sometimes it would BSOD on me and physical memory dump and all that other jargon pops up but not long enough to actually make out what it is saying. It also does it when I run a system health scan everytime. So when the laptop reboots it tells me a solution is to upgrade to vista service pack 1. Did it. Didn't work. It then referred me to Intel and I downloaded the currently available memory driver. Then I would get a slower physical dump and then it would partially load and then reboot on me with the same slow BSOD rather than being quick about it like it use to. It doesn't take too long. About 10 seconds or so. The original BSOD took about 5 or less. So I went into safe mode and restored it back to before I dl'd that driver. So now I'm stuck in limbo with no knowledge of how to get out of it without risking the laptop. I also notice whenever I get an update for HP health check it wouldn't dl and error saying stuff like java fatal error and such and some other issue. What exactly is going on?

Error 2739 or something. Cannot access java during run time custom action. (Something along those lines.)
Error: -1603 Fatal Error during installation. Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.

It is possible that the issue is caused by a wrong or outdated driver. Simply reinstalling windows is an unnecessary step. Don't waste your time.

Try drivers first.

You could try this...go here and download drivercleaner pro http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745 there is a step by step guide in the help file of drivercleaner. However, I am going to give you another step by step guide too. which is here http://www.driverheaven.net/windows-...-properly.html
I cannot stress enough follow the directions.

Something it does't tell you about is the cab cleaner feature of driver cleaner. After you have ran driver cleaner in safe mode and have cleared all of the old drivers on the driver cleaner window click tools then click cab cleaner and this opens up the cab cleaner feature. You want to clean the driver.cab file and the SP2.cab file.

Once that has finished you have 2 options..you can use ATI's drivers or you can get the omega drivers for ATI cards from http://www.omegadrivers.net/omega_drivers.php

I chose to go with the omega drivers and haven't had any issues since. If you decide to do this, let us know if it works for you.

Another good program to have is Ccleaner..it is a free pc/registry scanning program that removes junk from your hard drive and registry. You can get it here http://www.ccleaner.com
