Please help, my computer keeps crashing

Just as the title says, my computer keeps crashing. I can't figure out what is causing the problem... I know all my hardware is perfect, I have switched out every part in the computer. I sometimes use the built in windows error report and everytime it tells me the problem was caused by a device driver. I go into my device manager and there are no conflicts, I ahve updated all my drivers and yet it still crashes... does anyone know what is going on? Im pretty sure my bios is setup perfectly as well but please help me, i cant figure it out.

When you say your computer keeps crashing, what do you mean exactly?

A little more information would be help us to help you.

What error messages are you getting if any?

Right click my computer and select properties then the advanced tab, and under startup and recovery click settings and uncheck the box that says automatically restart, also set the write debugging information to none.

Now instead of your computer rebooting, you should receive an error message telling you why your system has crashed. Pay particular attention to any drivers identified in the stop message.

Post the error message here so that we can take a look at it and advise.

i have a very similar problem and took your advice.

i got: bad pool header

then when it continued not to reboot into windows i got:

driver irql not less or equal

i have recently had a new power supply box fitted and also installed an extra half gig of memory to make the system 1 gig.

any help would be most welcome.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Go HERE and look up the meaning of the Windows stop message.

It could well be that it`s the extra memory you installed that is causing the problem. Try removing it and see if the problem goes away.

thanks for getting back quickly.

i looked for my specific error at microsoft and couldn't match it precisley, however it does indeed look like it was/is the memory. have swapped the memory banks about the slots and so far no crashing.

same type stuff

ok, so i get the bsod saying bad pool header in association with recently installed software or hardware. this bsod only happens when i install sp2 on my laptop with xp pro on it. i have formatted, searched the web, repaired my copy and looked for alternet download sites for sp2 and came up blank. i need service pack two for the security it offers, and unless someone here can find an alternative then i am out of computational use. (which would mentally send me into a form of pain im just not ready for in my life.)

please help.

P.S. although i love my computer i love my girlfriend even more

drivers

yo man it seems to be the problem with drivers, coz before i had same problems but it was xp pro sp1, so it was problem with my firewall drivers i got an upgrade and everything works great , so it probably some soft that u have interfering with another drivers try formatting hard or reintalling win, then install sp2 first and see if it works, it probably will , but dont install any other soft just sp2

Hi Jackblackness,

Attach 4 to 5 minidumps here. You can find the minidump at the folder \windows\minidump. I will examine the dumps and find out the culprit.

Hi

hi ppl, look, my computer keeps restarting randomly, i can't burn disks over image because when i do, my computer makes corrupted files on disk, so i have to burn them directly from disk to disk (on the fly), and i get messages like in a red window "invalid instruction (some alfanumeric number) memory could not be read / written (some alfanumeric number)... it is annoying...

i have 320w PS, amd XP 2000+, 512 mb DDR, asus a7v8x-x, gigabyte ati radeon 9600 pro, 2 HDD, TV card...

I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!

i downloaded drivers from the intenet, i got my computer checked several times, at several different people, AND EVERYBODY says: "Hay man, your computer works just fine, i don't know what's wrong with you?!"

i have a lot of minidumps, when i turn off RESTART AUTOMATICLY, i get stop message " irq is less or equal ", i forgot, i didn't read it for a long time, because i just let him restart, but it goes something like that...

I WILL BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU EVEN TRY TO HELP ME!!!

i am from serbia, and my english is not so good, so sorry about errors in language

Black Jesus,
When Windows crashes with blue screen, it writes a system event 1001 and a minidump to the folder \windows\minidump. Check system event 1001 and it has the content of the blue screen

Event ID: 1001
Source: Save Dump
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.The bugcheck was : 0xc000000a (0xe1270188, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804032100).
Microsoft Windows..... A dump was saved in: .......

Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> System -> Event 1001. Copy the content and paste it back here

Zip 5 to 6 minidumps and attach the zip files here. I will study the dump and find out the culprit.

Alot if not most restart and hardware crash problems can be traced to the power supply. Read below the quote from Tom's Hardware.

"It happens more often than many users realize. An old graphics card or a slow processor runs smoothly and without a peep for weeks, and then suddenly, after a system upgrade, system failures start occurring with nasty regularity. Frequently users blame problems like this on sloppily programmed drivers or hardware mined with errors.

But often it turns out that the power supply unit is simply no longer enough for the upgrade and the associated power requirements. The result is sporadic system failures due to unstable power delivery. Once it becomes clear that the DX9 capable AGP graphics card at full 3D capacity alone consumes up to 30 watts, the reaction is hardly surprising."

You can read the rest of the article here, http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/20040122/

side note: here is a PDF titled "Calculating System Power Consumption".

Here's a good advice if your computer is crashing throw it outta the window and laff , that helps lol nah just kidding easier way would be if your pc is craching all the time is jsut stop the crashes do a system backup and up date it then if something happens u can just restore it to normal again, i had the same problem so in case somethign happens i just got Norton Ghost and no more long reinstalls of windows and then all the soft

Your windows crashes with bugcheck 8E, C5 and D0 and they are the symptoms of bad ram. Reseat the memory to another memory slot. If it still fails, replace the ram.
