AMD boss Lisa Su tops highest-paid CEO list

CEO pay is obscene. Nobody deserves 300x (or 3000x) their company's median staff pay.

But CEO pay is what it is. I've lost count of the CEOs seemingly being rewarded for failing, so at least Lisa Su is being rewarded for exceeding all reasonable expectations for what could be done with AMD over the past 6 years.

I just wish I had dropped some cash on the stock a few years ago when I started to sense a turnaround story.

This isn't her normal yearly salary, and she doesn't make NEARLY this much most years. The reason it's so big this year is due to a bunch of stock options from prior years vesting now, while AMD's stock price is orders of magnitude higher than when said options were agreed to. Basically, she only made this much money, because she got AMD's stock price so damn freaking high, so damn freaking fast.

Doesn't matter, because the feminists will always whine about the gender pay gap...
I am surprised that in 2020 there are still people who don't see feminism as a crazy movement lying and deceiving.
Why cant normal good women fighting for women's right see that, and why don't they start a new movement that will not have the smelly association with what feminism stands for?
When good people are silent about wrongdoings of those fighting for the same cause, they are all partaking in doing it wrong.

P.S, she deserves all of it. Any girl pursuing a carrier in IT should look at her as an inspiration .
Good job miss Lisa. When I look at my secondary PC with AMD CPU which saved me good money compared to Intel, I am happy AMD and its awesome people were able to come back.

All you people saying she deserves it. No she doesn't. No man or woman deserves that much. Everyone in the company is just as deserving. Everyone is working toward achieving the same goal.

Just because everyone has grown accustomed to being screwed over. That doesn't mean those higher up the ladder, somehow deserves their paid position of screwing others over.

This just isn't true. In a hierarchical company the leadership is highly responsible for the fortunes of the company. Look at Apple with and without Jobs at the helm, at least in the early years. I agree that the rewards should be better shared, and that average or poor Ieadership shouldn't be lavishly rewarded, but to argue everyone is equally responsible for AMDs turnaround is just false.

He's clearly referring to pay gap myth that is pushed by feminist and women's advocacy groups whenever the subject of female compensation comes up, he's not attributing it to anything in the article. Come on, do you people seriously not read anything non-tech related?
