Annoying stuff happinning on desktop

Ok, everytime i go to right click something in the desktop or in anything that can be right clicked to bring up a side bar full of options it wont show the options it will show an outline of the options and I must mouse over them to see them. Its obviously not a serious problem at all it is just rather annoying.

Right click on the desktop/Properties/Appearance/Advanced/

from the drop down menu, select.......menu - hey !

Change the text color to black or make the background color black.
