Another agp enabling problem!

I've gone through the forum &ive read through the other posts and i still can't find a solution yet:

I've got an asrock conroe86gv motherboard and a sapphire ati radeon 9250 256mb agp card. though detected and id the primary display, i can't enable agp write/read, or even agp 2x,4x. its not enabling.

the mobo came with updated drivers & their website had the same, i even went to intel &downloaded their chipset drivers, (since the mobo uses intel chipsets) and still nothing.

in the devices dialog box the card is identified to be in a pci slot (pci slot 17), and i dunno why. Ive updated the card drivers as well & still nothing

in the bios, there's no option to increase agp aperture size, just one asking to select the primary display (which is obviously set to agi, but is of no use)

if my drivers are corrupt, then i don't know how to uninstall the .inf drivers since when installing them, windows shows they're alreeady installed.

I know my h/w specs are old but i do really neeeeed help here. thanxx

Hi

I'll take a stab at this, its a PCI card in a PCI slot, so its not an AGP card in an AGP slot (smaller than a PCI and usually brown).

Might be why you cant enable AGP speed....

As you say your board is old, does it have an AGP slot?

Regards

hey,
i checked to make sure of that, even when i bought the board & card, it's an agp card on an agp slot-in fact, asrock calls it an agi slot;and it's purple in colour. i'm still stranded.
