Another speculative execution exploit affects Intel Core CPUs

This is NOT comparable with VW diesel emissions. Because only Intel has these bugs, AMD doesn't. So it's only Intel's problem.

On the other hand, tricks that VW used were used at the same time by all other car manufacturers. They were (and still are) all doing it, but only VW was punished. Because it was a foreign corporation that had excellent sales on the American market. Before that, Toyota (a Toyota car) was accused of killing an entire family, because of a bug in electronics. Which proved to be a blatant lie. The car was sabotaged by someone (probably General Motors), it wasn't Toyota's fault. The sabotage happened when Toyota had #1 sales on the American market. You can see the pattern.

But Intel is different. Nobody falsely accused it. Those bugs only exist in their CPUs. Competition is clean. There's no similarity to VW.

Basically you're saying it's worse then the emissions scandal?

The question is did Intel know that the type of aggressive speculative execution they were implementing to improve performance could be exploited in so many ways.

The concept of side-channel attack is nothing new.

They had to.
If your "normal execution" does certain evaluations for reasons of security and your "speculative execution" skips those for the sake of performance, then it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that you have a dead mouse under your sofa right there. You HAVE TO KNOW that "eventually" it’s gonna start to smell funny. ;-)

INTEL's Strategery.................................

1.) Pour sugar in Lisa Su's gas tank.
2.) Steal more AMD workers & managers.
3.) Hand out bribes ooops meant Rebates to large distributors to only sell INTEL CPU's.
4.) Rely on INTEL fanboys as PR stunts.
5.) Watch motivated movies like ROCKY & CREED series.
6.) Run around the office blaming others and spend less time on your 5 yachts & 10 sports cars.
6.) Keep ignoring the Truth.
7.) Steal NVIDIA's CEO's lucky leather jacket.
8.) Read #1 again.
