Apple unveils the 2019 Mac Pro, a $5,999 workstation powered by an 8-core Intel Xeon processor

It uses professional workstation parts (Radeon pro, Xeon), part of why the price is so high. But of course theres the Apple tax also.
And charging 3x the cost. I can get a thread ripper cpu, 64gb ram better video card and at least 1tb SSD for less money

I think the price point of this computer is ridiculous, but not its price. The CPU chip is apparently about $4000 all by itself. So it isn't a $2000 PC. EDIT: Oops, the base price is with an 8 core Xeon, not the 28 core version. So the price is ridiculous too.

Not sure where you got that information, but the 3.5GHz Xeon W 8 core (Xeon W-3223) has a $750 price point according to Intel's processor info page here: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...on-w-3223-processor-16-5m-cache-3-50-ghz.html

Never mind, I missed your edit while I was gathering info.

The point is, the Intel W processor is highly lack luster @$4000 compared to the way cheaper i9 or thread rippers which are alot cheaper. I would say the W processor should be more like $400 in wholesale bulk.

I love how it looks it's aggressive and a talking peace.
Conventional people wont like it because it dont fit into their misguided ideas of how a computer should look.
Ignore them people none of them are worth listening to.
Its expensive but for people with plenty of money it will sell like hot cakes.

I can make a PC over 2x more powerful
for less money and looks better and not the crap apple brand and not have the crap apple is.
Until you need to render that movie or edit some audio,
Its small compact and packs a punch,
Any pc to do the same will be 4x the size.

It looks similar to their other cheese grater desktop they used to have. Also, I think the old phrase "A fool and his money are soon parted" applies to the rest of your statement.
