BF3 low FPS, why?

I have an interesting problem that I am hoping someone could help me out with. I really don't have any issues with other games, but when I play BF3, on low medium high or ultra, I have very low frame rate. Ranges from up to 60 and as low as 12 even on low. Here are my specs:

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
MSI 750i Mobo (slightly older, but shouldn't be that big of an issue)
Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.5 GHz (Same as above)
6 GB ram
Nvidia GTX 560 Ti 2GB
And a 500 GB HDD with 80 GB free.

Any Ideas?

I also only had issues in bf3. Here is a bit of info I received from the company (they build overclocked systems at very competitve prices), I buy many of my pc components from:


"There were numerous issues with the GTX 580 specifically with Battlefield , But they sorted it out in their newest driver update , Update your Nvidia drivers too
win7-winvista-64bit-290.53-beta-driver."

A buddy of mine was having a similar issue. He changed his Nvidia settings to let "3D application decide", under the 3d settings in the nvidia control panel. This along with the latest drivers, and modest settings made BF run as it should for him.
