Blue screen when trying to install windows

I just got a new laptop, I didn't want vista so I formatted the hard drive on another PC before I tried to install Windows XP - I put the hard drive back in the laptop, and when I insert the Windows XP CD, it loads all the drivers just fine, but then when it says "Setup is starting windows." It gives me a blue screen of death, no real helpful information at all.

Please help.

It's missing the SATA controller driver for the laptop. The error is most likely a 0x0000007B error.

Is there anyway I can get these drivers on the laptop without an external floppy drive?
The laptop is new and of course does not come with a floppy drive, so I'm kind of stuck in the water wondering what I'm supposed to do about that one.

The drivers can be extracted to CD (ie burnt to CD)
When starting the Windows Setup you should initially see an F6 prompt (this is whilst the Windows CD is still booting up
Press F6 when prompted
Browse to the location of the Harddrive controller (you have placed on another CD)
Then temporarily remove the Windows CD, and place the CD with the drivers, in
Browse to that, and install (some have multiple drivers, choose the one that is yours)
Continue Windows Setup
When prompted put the Windows CD back in
