I gets the error while shutting down my computer (running Vista SP2). When I restart and log back into my account all my settings are replaced by the original settings (like my wallpaper and additional desktop items). The aero sidebar was back (I disabled it).
After some browsing I found even though I logged into as User MYNAME, the account I'm in is C:/User/TEMP, and not C:/User/MYNAME.
