BSOD with Alienware M17x

I have had an Alienware M17x for almost 8 months now and I've never had any problems with it. Recently though, every time I try to move or extract a large file my laptop will start to make a buzzing/ringing noise and then crash/BSOD. I'm assuming there is something wrong with the hard drive but I would like to know if anyone knows what it is or what to do about it. It's getting very frustrating and any input would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I'm running Windows 7 64bit, if that helps at all.

Update:

I opened up task manager to view the performance while I extracted a very large file. Every time the ringing noise started the CPU usage would drop from 30-60% to 0%. So I'm guessing that means my CPU is messed up... what should I do?
