Can I switch laptop hard drives?

I have a company laptop that I travel with. My question is can remove their hard drive and install my own hard drive. Both hard drives would have XP installed on them. Would my company be able to tell that I am switching drives. Thanks for any help.

They won't be able to tell unless they have some kind of seal put in place.

does windows install it self any where else besides the hard drive? if I remove the company hard drive and install a new hard drive then install windows will there be any problems putting back in the company hard drive? Thanks for any input

Just make sure you handle the company drive very gently.
